After my open heart surgery last June 12, 2010, here I am now healthier, livelier and of course prettier than before. heh~
Okay here's the story,
I was diagnosed with a Rheumatic Heart Disease when I was 6 or 7 yrs. old. After that, I was always regularly checked by my pediatric cardiologists Dra. Ferrera. When I turned 19 she suggested for an operation. Me and my family was not prepared and hesitant to comply at first.
We consulted another cardiology in Philippine Heart Center, he also suggested an operation to prevent an upcoming heart failure.
I was admitted at Philippine Heart Center 2 days before the operation. 2D Echo and X-ray was performed to scan my heart once more. An orientation for the patients was held before the operation to explain the procedures.
June 11, around 6 o'clock pm, I was instructed to abstain from eating and drinking.
June 12, around 2 o'clock pm, The nurse took me in their Treatment Room and injected me with something. A few minutes later, my eyes became blurry and I was dizzy. They transferred me in the operating room, the lights were focused directly in my face. They injected me another dose of something then they covered my face, that's the last thing I remembered. The next thing I knew, I was lying in their recovery room bed, a tube inserted in my mouth, with iv lines, jp drain was also connected, with chest tubes, etc.
To make the story short, I spent 1 1/2 day in recovery room, another 1 1/2 day in surgical ICU and almost four days in my semi-private room.
I am very thankful that I am still able to write this. :) God is so great, he answered my prayers. My family is very supportive, loving, and caring. Again, I thank God for giving me such a wonderful family. I love them very much.
Today, after 4 months, Seizures has healed. Although, my surgeon once said that my bones will be totally healed after 9months but still I am very much happy with my condition right now. Will be back at school this coming semester! yey~ :D
