Personalized love cards are easy to make and a very sweet gift for your special someone. Using adobe photoshop cs5 I tried making one by following this simple tutorial.
1. Press Ctrl + N to create a new file. Be sure to select “Transparent” on the drop down menu.
2. Draw a shape using Rounded Rectangle Tool. You can do this by simply pressing "U" and choosing Round Rectangle Tool at the upper left part. Don't be bothered by the color first. Any colors will do.
3. Apply the following Layer Styles:
Bevel and Emboss
Gradient Overlay
How to access Gradient Editor:
Select Gradient Tool ( G )
Click the center. Gradient Editor will pop out.
Result:
4. Using Horizontal Type Tool ( T), add numbers consisting of 4 groups with 4 numbers each. I used XOXO (hugs&kisses) instead of numbers. You may also add the recipient's full name.
Font Style: Myriad Pro
I used the following blending options:
Result:
5. Duplicate the layer. Without the recipient's name. You may need to flip the card if you used numbers instead of XO. Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal.
6. We now have the front & back part of the love card. Customize each card by cutting images. Since I'm not so good at cutting images, I used different heart brush tip I downloaded to create simple design like this one:
7. Draw a black and a white rectangle using the Rectangle Tool at the back portion of the love card.
8. Put the initials or anything that may serve as the recipient's signature.
Font Style: Vladimir Script
9. Add your terms & conditions, and/or the validity of the card, personal messages can be included.
Font Style: Cambria
10. Save images as .gif.
Results:
It is simple yet cute and fits perfectly on wallets which made it very handy. You can also make one for friends, just add some creativity. :)
Tip : Search google for love cards to see different concepts and to have more ideas.
